BAKERY POLICIES

Thank you for your interest in placing an order from DrSoosBakes! By choosing to do business with us you are agreeing to the Terms of Service detailed on this page. The Terms of service are subject to change without notice. 
Please read carefully the Terms of service to make sure you understand all our policies before submitting a payment. 

1 – ORDERS AND PAYMENTS
Placing an order is simple and starts by filling out the “Order Request Form.” After the request is reviewed, you will receive two invoices. The first invoice is a deposit that is 50% of the total order cost. The deposit must be paid to confirm your order, if the deposit is not paid, we will not be able to prepare your order.  The second invoice will be the remaining balance that will be due before or at pickup or delivery. 

Ideally, we prefer that you place an order request ten days before the date of pickup or delivery. We will do our best to accommodate an order with shorter notice but cannot guarantee that we will be able to fulfill the order. 

All payments must be made through our online system offered by Shopify, known as Shop.

 
2 – INGREDIENTS, ALLERGENS, AND SERVING SIZES
The items offered at DrSoosBakes are prepared in a HOME KITCHEN. Additionally, all cakes, fillings, frostings and baked goods may contain or come into contact with soy, wheat, dairy, nuts, or other common food allergens.

It is the responsibility of the Customer to inform us prior to confirmation of their order. The Customer is responsible for informing guests of any allergy information. 

The servings sizes displayed for each Product are estimates. The number of servings can change based on how the cake is cut. 

3 – DESIGN EXPECTATIONS AND ALTERATIONS
We will do our very best to provide a product (cake, cupcakes, etc.) that aims to recreate your requested design based off of the details and images you provide. Each product is custom made and may have slight differences in color, design, and interpretation. We cannot create an exact copy of another product.

Design alterations can be requested five days before the scheduled pickup or delivery date and time.

The prices displayed on our online store are starting prices and may change based on the detailed design. For example, the addition of edible images on any Product/s is subject to an additional fee of $10 per edible image. 

It is the responsibility of the Customer or anyone receiving the Product/s to ensure that it is completed to their satisfaction at the time of pickup or delivery. DrSoosBakes is not responsible for the Product/s or any damages after the item has left the pickup location or after delivery has been completed. 

4 – PICKUP AND DELIVERY
Pickup and delivery dates and times are scheduled at the time of submitting the order request form. The date and time will be confirmed when the deposit is paid. The pickup and delivery times available are listed on our online page titled "Order". 

The full pickup location will be shared in the invoice. Delivery is available within 50 miles of Emeryville, California. Delivery date and time will be arranged before the order is confirmed. The delivery fee is set at our discretion between $15-$35, which is based on time, fuel cost, and other charges (i.e. tolls).

Please be on time for your pickup or delivery time. You have a one-hour window from the scheduled time and date to receive your order whether it is a pickup or delivery order. A fee of $20 per hour will be applied after your designated time if we must wait. 

If you need to reschedule, please contact us at (510) 646-0532 at least 24 hours in advance. A late fee may be applicable if you do not contact us to reschedule. 

5 – CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
All Product/s are final sale. If an order is cancelled by the Customer and the balance has been paid in full. The refund policy is as follows: 

a.    Orders cancelled fourteen days before the scheduled pickup or delivery date and time will receive a full refund of the deposit or any other payments made towards the total order cost. 
b.    Orders cancelled seven days before the scheduled pickup or delivery date and time will receive 50% of the paid deposit plus any additional payments made towards the total order cost. 
c.    Orders cancelled three days before the scheduled pickup or delivery date and time will receive no refund. 
If the Product has been provided to the Customer with the detailed specifications but the Customer does not accept the finished Product, the deposit WILL NOT be refunded. The Customer must choose to take the Product/s or leave it at no added cost. 

6 – SATISFACTION, TRANSPORTATION, DISPLAY                                          Product/s care instructions will be provided to aid you in safe transportation, display and storage of the Product/s. Product/s should be transported at a cool temperature on a flat surface (i.e. floorboards of the car). If the cake needs to be stored, the best place is the refrigerator. When the cake is ready to be displayed, you can place it at room temperature for about 1-4 hours before serving. Please NEVER display a cake in direct sunlight, this will cause the buttercream and any edible decorations to melt.

Additionally, tiered cakes have wooden dowels to help them stay stable, please use caution when cutting into the cakes and serving. High temperatures and humidity can also affect the appearance of the Product/s and DrSoosBakes is not responsible for any damage that may occur to weather conditions.  

7 – PUBLICATION, USER COMMENTS, FEEDBACK AND OTHER SUBMISSIONS 
We reserve the right to use any images or videos of a Product/s made by us for publication at a later date. This includes but is not limited to sharing on our online store or on social media platforms. These images or videos of the Product/s will only be used for marketing and promotional purposes without compensation. 

Additionally, we may request comments, feedback and other submissions to help us understand how we can improve and make sure we have all the details to fulfill your order. This information will be collected.
